Why drink Tea?
Brewing and enjoying the perfect pot of tea has, for centuries, been a ritual undertaken on a daily basis across the globe.
Green tea comes from the camelia sinensis plant and the best quality teas are harvested by hand throughout countries such as China, Japan, Indonesia, and the province of Formosa.
Apart from being an enjoyable pastime, it now seems that there is a strong body of evidence that drinking tea provides a number of exciting health benefits.
Green, white and black teas contain powerful anti-oxidants such as polyphenols, catechins and flavanoids (One inparticular called egcg being the most potent of the anti-oxidants) theanine, saponine, vitamins, amino acids and nutrients. Tea, it seems, can assist in improving your health, wellbeing and protect your immune system. In addition, recent studies suggest that drinking tea can reduce blood clots, reduce the risk of heart disease and stroke, lower bad cholesterol, lower high blood pressure, lower high blood sugar, reduce the damaging effects of smoking, help with arthritis, protect against osteoporosis, reduce certian allergies, protect against cold and flu viruses, help maintain fluid balance, help with fatigue, boost the immune system, aid in oral care, prevent oral cavaties, support liver function, aid stress relief and aid weight loss.
